A large not for profit, faith-based organisation who care for and support people through all ages and stages of life, whose services include aged care, retirement and independent living, early learning, disability, chaplaincy, and community services has engaged The Orchard Talent Group to find their new Service Manager. Leading their largest Residential Aged Care Facility, which will have 120 residential aged care places as well as 150 independent living apartments.
With over 145,000 clients served in 2024, this organisation is iconic in its field.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Service Manager to join a dynamic team based within the Northern Beaches of Sydney, to oversee and be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the team within a Residential Aged Care home, to deliver an efficient, effective, and best practice service to residents. Leading a team of over 300 clinical and non-clinical staff during this time of redevelopment and change. This a Senior leadership role and the successful candidate will have extensive leadership experience coupled with an hands on approach to overseeing the highest level of clinical care.
The successful candidate will oversee and organise the planning, budgeting, and reporting of activities within the facility, coordinating key processes and preparing regular management reports.
As a pivotal member of the senior leadership team, this role will report to the Head of Seniors - Sydney North. The Service Manager will be instrumental in ensuring:
- Leadership of the team, through a time of change, including providing mentor-ship to all clinical team members.
- Clinical oversight on a daily basis to ensure residents are receiving clinical care and support in accordance with the Clinical Governance Framework and Clinical guidelines.
- Hold monthly clinical governance meetings
- Review the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) and submit reviews, therefore an excellent working knowledge of Residential Aged Care is essential
- Championing a culture of excellence and quality
- Consistently building the capability of the team
- Overseeing program operations, budgeting, and reporting
- Overview of clinical management
- Ensuring resident engagement is kept at the highest level
- Budget management to maintain quality care
As the ideal candidate, you will be invaluable in supporting the organisations ongoing efforts to deliver services via a new frontier of service to cater for the increasing demand on Aged Care Services within the region. This is a management role, typically requiring five or more years’ experience, including three or more years’ experience supervising at a senior level. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organised, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined.

- Demonstrated capability in establishing strategic partnerships and engaging with external/internal stakeholders.
- Hold APHRA registration (preferred).
- Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire teams, coupled with your Industrial Relations experience will be essential in driving meaningful change.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex multidisciplinary and multifaceted services.
- A current driver’s licence with ability to travel to meet the operational needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Ideally experience within a facility during a time of redevelopment and growth.
